AA 3 Stars Inn
Is The Mousetrap a hotel?
No, the Mousetrap is a traditional, old inn.

The rooms are comfortable and well appointed but are probably a bit smaller than you would expect in a hotel.  Think of it as a B&B with all the benefits of a lovely old pub, great ales and lovely food.
What time can I check into my room?
The only time you cannot check in is between 3pm and 6pm.  At the Inn we keep the old licensing hours and still close between these times.

On arrival we will give you your keys, and explain all the things you need to know e.g. breakfast times etc.  The rooms are normally ready by 2pm.

Once you have your keys you are free to explore the beautiful village and surrounding areas knowing that you can come and go as you please.  Your keys enable you to access the building regardless of the time so please ensure you take them with you.

Is food available every day?
Every day throughout June, July, August & September, otherwise

No

We serve breakfast to our residents every day but we do not serve evening meals on Sunday or Monday.  We serve a traditional Sunday lunch and then give our hard working chefs a break until Tuesday lunchtime.

There is a wide range of dining options available in the centre of the village which is a short five minutes stroll away.

The bar is open every day.
Is there parking available at the Inn?
Yes

We have a small car park at the rear of the Inn.  There is one parking space for each room.  The spaces easily accommodate standard sized cars but people arriving in large 4x4s or anything bigger may have to make alternative arrangements.
Why are the trip advisor reviews so different to the reviews on your website?
Trip advisor allows anyone, from anywhere, to leave a review on any property anywhere in the world.  Sometimes the country has never been visited let alone the property.

Trip advisor reviews can be helpful as there are many constructive people leaving helpful information, unfortunately there are many more doing the opposite.

The reviews you find on our own website have been left by people that have actually visited and experienced The Mousetrap Inn.

On departure, people who booked our rooms on line receive an email inviting them to leave a review, this is an automated system over which we have no control.  This is the only way a review can be left.  If you scroll through our vast list of reviews you will find a few bad ones in amongst the great ones, these are genuine as well.

At the time of writing we had 886 reviews scoring us an average of 4.3 / 5

We are blessed with many repeat visitors, some come multiple times per year.

If you book online rooms with us you will be invited to leave a genuine review.
